Unibail-Rodamco, leading European company of the shopping center sector, and Vips Group, One of the leading multi-brand and multiformat groups in the hotel and catering sector in Spain, have reached an agreement to inaugurate the first wagamama restaurant in a shopping center in Spain. The inauguration will take place in September at Parquesur shopping center, located in Leganés (Madrid), and is part of the strategy of its owner and manager, Unibail-Rodamco, who are betting on innovation in its shopping centers' offer with the introduction of novelty brands to our country.
wagamama, Which means "mischievous child", is the leading international brand in the Pan-Asian "Casual Dining" segment and stands out for its modern, tasty and healthy catering concept where each dish is cooked in view of its patrons, which in turn provides innovative quality. The brand was created in 1992 in London by chef Alan Yau and currently has more than 170 establishments in more than 20 countries, where the concept of decoration and atmosphere is inspired by Japanese taverns.
The Parquesur restaurant will be the third restaurant of the pan-Asian brand in our country. It joins the two recently opened restaurants in the capital, in Serrano and Genoa streets. The pan-Asian brand expects to open a total of four restaurants in our country this year as well as an expansion plan for 20 restaurants within five years in Spain and Portugal.
