NSF International certifies the Grupo Vips food safety risk system

    Madrid; October 11, 2016. NSF, an independent and leading international auditing firm, has confirmed the food safety and quality processes of the brands VIPS, VIPSmart, Ginos, Fridays, Starbucks and The Work, managed by Grupo Vips, not only comply with current law in Spain but also the highest international food safety standards. Therefore, the Grupo Vips quality processes are now considered to be some of the most complete and demanding food quality and safety programs in Spain.

    NSF International is a global independent food safety expert organization which defines standards and analyzes and certifies products for industries related to health, food and water, among others, as well as consumer products in order to minimize health risks for consumers and protect the environment ( Founded in 1944, it is one of the main entities that collaborate with the World Health Organization, among other institutions.


    A pioneer auditing system in Spain

    Grupo Vips has a disciplinary Food Safety and Product Research and Development team which participates in all of the processes involved with creating new dishes. The Grupo Vips excellence in quality standards and food safety is guaranteed with a pioneer auditing system in Spain which combines internal procedures and external certifications.

    In collaboration with the R+D department, each one of the Grupo Vips brands has its own innovation team which is constantly researching and developing new recipes, always connected to the latest culinary trends from around the world.

    Each month, the its brands’ executive chefs try and assess more than a hundred recipes at its Experimental Kitchen and perform more than 1,000 food controls, audits and analyses every year to guarantee the highest of product quality, controlling all phases of the supply chain from raw material selection to the preparation of each dish in each restaurant.
