Grupo Vips is led by Plácido Arango García-Urtiaga, the current Chairman. Enrique Francia has been the company's CEO since 2010. Plácido Arango heads the Group's Executive Committee, which is comprised of the following members:
The grandson of Spanish immigrants, he was born and spent his childhood in Mexico where his family founded Cifra, a company that would later become Wal-Mart Mexico. He studied at Tufts University (Boston) and Tübingen (Germany). After working a few years abroad, he joined the Group in 1984, was named CEO in 1997 and President in 2005.
Plácido Arango

He holds a degree in economics and business as well as a PDD and PADE from IESE. He began his career in 1990 working at Arthur Andersen. Ten years after, he joined Grupo PRISA where he worked for 9 years holding several management positions. He joined Grupo Vips in 2008 as Vice-President of Finance and was named CEO in 2010, an office he currently holds.
Enrique Francia

He holds a degree in marketing from ESIC. He joined Grupo Vips in 1986, where he took on various responsibilities such as Senior Director of Marketing and Senior Director of the Restaurant Division. In 2012, he was appointed a member of the Board of Directors, an office he currently holds.
Alberto Menéndez

With a degree in economics and business, he has nearly 30 years of experience in human resources management. After working for companies like Continente and Seur, he joined Grupo Vips in 1999 where he leads the Human Resources Department.
Miguel Ángel García Andrés
Senior Director of Human Resources
With a degree in law and business, he began his career at Arthur Andersen and later joined PRISA as Director of Corporate Development and Assistant COO. Following his role as partner at Ambers&Co, he joined Grupo Vips as the CFO in 2010.
Jesús Soto
Chief Financial Officer and Senior Director of Systems and Supply Chain
With a degree in law and business from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE E3), she has more than 20 years of experience in management positions at companies like Continente (currently known as Carrefour), AVIS, National Atesa and Costa Cruceros. She joined Grupo Vips in 2016 as General Manager of VIPS and VIPSmart.
María Jesús García

Ever since he joined Grupo Vips in 1994, he has held different management positions. In 2014, he was named Director of Franchise Operations for VIPS, VIPS Smart and GINOS and in 2016, he became the General Manager of GINOS.
Alberto Chamorro
General Manager, GINOS
With a degree in economics and business and an MBA from IE, he joined Grupo Vips in 1988, began managing Starbucks Spain in 2003 and Starbucks Portugal in 2008. He has also been responsible for managing Fridays and The WOK since 2011. In 2016, he was named General Manager of Wagamama.
Álvaro Salafranca
General Manager, Starbucks Spain and Portugal, Fridays and Wagamama
He holds a degree in naval machinery. After working for companies like La Seda de Barcelona, he joined Grupo Vips as manager of the Facilities Division in 1990, and since then has continued at the company in various management roles. In 2008, he was named Senior Director of Real Estate, Safety and BSF, and Franchises and Vips Shops in 2011.
