wagamama opens its second flagship restaurant at Génova 27

Madrid; June 14, 2017. wagamama, the leading international Pan-Asian cuisine brand managed in Spain and Portugal by Grupo Vips, opened its second flagship restaurant on the Peninsula today.

Situated at number 27 on Madrid’s calle Génova street between the Justicia and Chamberi districts, this all-new restaurant has a team of 60 people and a surface area of more than 400 m2, with a cozy indoor terrace which is perfect for enjoying the good weather.

With London-based brand’s characteristic atmosphere and décor, the all-new wagamama on Génova transmits the values that define it through the design. The open kitchen speaks of its fresh, nutritious and transparent offering cooked to order; the adjoining tables invite guests to share the experience with friends, or even new friends, and the warm light tells us we can eat in just 30 minutes if in a hurry or enjoy a relaxing experience without checking the clock, with free green tea refills.

At wagamama, which means “willful” in Japanese, customers can enjoy healthy, tasty and daring cuisine: accompanying their famous ramen, curry or donburis with one of their freshly-squeezed juices or imported Asian beers, or enjoying daring proposals like their white chocolate and ginger cheesecake or duck gyozas with a top secret sauce.

Growth in Spain and Portugal

wagamama landed in Spain for the first time in April of this year; the first restaurant at number 41 calle Serrano in Madrid was very well received.

The new Génova location is the second of the four to be opened by the brand this year, one of which is confirmed for the Plaza Río 2 mall, with a fourth yet to be announced.

Grupo Vips plans to open 20 wagamama in Spain and Portugal within the next five years, which will create around 1000 jobs.
