Tenerife, 12 April 2016.- VIPSmart, Grupo Vips' innovative restaurant brand, has opened its first restaurant in Tenerife under a franchise agreement. The Siam Mall at the southern end of the island was chosen for the location of this cutting edge concept which offers the best of VIPS restaurants in a fast atmosphere.
People in Tenerife can now enjoy the most iconic dishes from the renowned VIPS cafeteria-restaurants such as their Vips club sandwich or pancakes with whipped cream with extended non-stop opening hours from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and on holidays, and until midnight on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves.
The VIPSmart concept was created in 2010 by Grupo Vips, the leading food service company in Spain, to complete the offer provided by its casual dining chain VIPS, the original brand and the company's flagship.
With the new restaurant in Tenerife, VIPSmart now has 20 restaurants in Spain (17 franchises and 3 internally owned) in addition to the 95 VIPS locations (82 internally owned and 13 franchises) throughout Spain. With this opening, there are now five Grupo Vips establishments on the Canary Islands which also has two VIPS restaurants, one Ginos and one Starbucks in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias.
The new VIPSmart has meant the creation of 14 jobs and occupies a total surface area of 288m 2 with the capacity for 162 diners.
The restaurant is being opened by a franchisee who is again betting on the brand. The new restaurant-cafeteria in Tenerife is his third VIPSmart franchise as he already has one in the C.C. Aqua mall in Valencia and one in the C.C. La Vital in Gandía.
VIPSmart: the best of VIPS but in fast-food style
VIPSmart is the Vips fast casual offer which combines the quality of the original brand's casual dining with the advantages of the speed and prices of fast food restaurants.
In other words, VIPSmart is a VIPS without table service (customers order at the counter and wait at their tables until their food is ready for pick-up) and a menu that is shorter yet maintains the quality of the ingredients used in each VIPS dish, which is cooked to order and served on real dishes in restaurants with a modern and comfortable decor, free Wi-Fi and extended opening hours.
VIPSmart customers benefit from the speed offered by this model and an average bill of less than €10. Plus, there's a kid's menu for €5.95. It also has an all-new offer for people with coeliac disease which includes the most famous dishes such as the Vips club sandwich and a kid's menu at the same price as the original yet gluten-free.
The VIPSmart offering is based on a selection of the most successful VIPS restaurant dishes and includes a selection of salads, appetizers, sandwiches, hamburgers, desserts, a kid's menu and gluten-free dishes.
Visitors may try the famous Vips club sandwich, Manhattan hamburger, croquettes, pancakes with whipped cream or brownies at a price that is slightly lower than at VIPS cafeteria-restaurants yet with the same quality.
VIPSmart dishes are made with the best ingredients such as 100% Galician beef without any additives or preservatives just as is used to prepare all of the chain's hamburgers. Plus, all of the dishes are made to order and served with a meticulous presentation on real dishes with real silverware.
VIPSmart also offers the "always full" option meaning customers can fill up on their soft drinks as often as they wish for free.
Plus, VIPSmart offers frozen yogurt for dessert which can be customized with a variety of toppings customers can choose from.
