VIPS collaborates with CEAR on employment counselling

VIPS has set up various activities in Malaga for the game to be held in the José María Martín Carpena Sports Centre between the Spanish and Lithuanian men’s teams.

In collaboration with CEAR (Spanish Refugee Assistance Commission), VIPS held a workshop aimed at 20 women in vulnerable situations at its restaurant located at the Vialia shopping mall where they were able to find out first-hand and practice working in a restaurant and learning about each role, the importance of teamwork and the keys to customer service.  The event included the participation of VIPS volunteers and was followed by an employment counselling workshop with tips on getting to know oneself better and learning how to reflect the best of oneself when searching for a job. The day ended with a fun children’s cooking workshop for the participants’ children who had a great time learning how to make some of their favorite recipes.

In addition to this activity, VIPS installed a tent in the fan zone for this afternoon’s national team game in the area surrounding the José María Martín Carpena stadium which was open to all visitors. Basketball fans could test their skills in a three-pointer competition and win gifts and invitations to the Vialia and Malaga Nostrum VIPS restaurant-cafeterias.
