Coinciding with the pre-Eurobasket 2017 games at the Martín Carpena pavilion in Malaga, VIPS, the leading restaurant chain in Spain has organized activities to promote sports and corporate responsibility in the city, promoting the values it shares with the FEB such as teamwork, commitment, effort and excitement for the future.
VIPS is an official supplier of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) and also collaborates with the Women's Universe project, a comprehensive program led by the FEB to promote women's sport and the values it is capable of transmitting in society.
Activities to promote sports and support unemployed women in Malaga
In collaboration with CEAR, VIPS held a workshop aimed at unemployed women at its Vialia restaurant. Those in attendance were able to find out first-hand how to work at a restaurant in different roles, the importance of teamwork and the keys to customer service all while gaining some practical experience. The event included the participation of VIPS volunteers and featured an employment counselling and job training workshop with tips on getting to know oneself better and learning how to reflect the best of oneself when searching for a job.
In addition to this activity, VIPS installed a tent in the fan zone during the national team’s games in the area surrounding the Martín Carpena pavilion which was open to all visitors. There, basketball fans could test their skills and win different gifts in a three-pointer competition. Finally, all those attending enjoyed an incredible show sponsored by VIPS featuring the “Crazy Dunkers”, known throughout the world for their acrobatic entertainment at NBA games and the Olympic Games in Athens, Pekin and London.
