Marbella, 18 June 2015.- Starbucks is reinforcing its presence in Malaga with the opening tomorrow, on June 19th, of its third internally owned store in the province; in this case, in the El Capricho housing development in Marbella. The new location, situated in the El Corte Inglés department store opposite the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos convention hall, will occupy an area of 150 meters squared and will have a staff of 15 people (10 of whom are new hires) and direct access from the street.
Just like the Puerto Banús store, which was inaugurated only five months ago, the new store in Marbella is located in a spot within the department store due to a nationwide collaboration agreement Starbucks signed with El Corte Inglés.
To celebrate this very special occasion, Starbucks will distribute 6,000 samples today and tomorrow of its classic Espresso Roast which will flood the city with the aroma of the best coffee. An invitation will be delivered along with the sample to try a beverage at the shop on inauguration day. Plus, a large 2.5 meter long by 2 meter high Starbucks logo made of sand will stand above Marbella's boardwalk (Avda. del Mar) for the enjoyment of all those passing by tomorrow.
With this new opening, Starbucks now has a total of 80 internally owned stores in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Malaga in addition to the recently inaugurated store in Alicante as well as another 10 which are being operated at airports under licensing agreements. Following this new opening, Starbucks will have a total of 7 internally owned stores in Andalusia - four in downtown Seville, 1 in downtown Malaga and 2 in Marbella - as well as the two stores operated under licensing agreements at the Malaga-Costa del Sol airport.
Marbella residents and all those who visit the city as of the 19th may enjoy the complete Starbucks experience at the El Capricho El Corte Inglés: sofas, relaxing music, customizable beverages, the smell of recently ground coffee and free wireless internet access. Customers may enjoy a perfect cup of coffee, whether they choose a single-origin coffee, the classic Latte, the exclusive Caramel Macchiato or the summery flavors of the classic Frappuccino® made of wild berry yogurt or the all-new Frappuccino® made of mango and passion fruit yogurt to cool down this summer as never before.
To mark the occasion of this new opening, Álvaro Salafranca, CEO of Starbucks Spain and Portugal, said that "Malaga has always been a key province for Starbucks.
We opened a new store at the Banús Port just a few months ago and the response has been fantastic. Now, with this new store in El Capricho, we can be even closer to our Marbella customers to offer them the best cup of coffee and our best experience. This new opening is one step further in our commitment to Malaga and the consolidation of our collaboration with El Corte Inglés".
Starbucks promises to return with more surprises and new formats so all of its customers in Malaga can continue to enjoy the full Starbucks experience.
The perfect place to enjoy the perfect coffee
Situated inside the El Corte Inglés building yet with direct access from the street, the new Starbucks store offers a fresh, relaxed atmosphere with the decoration based on a balanced combination of light wood, green tiling on the bar, exposed concrete and an original rug painted on the floor. Plus, everyone who visits the new store in Alicante will have the chance to find out what one of the estates where Starbucks coffee beans are grown is like with the huge wall poster hanging above the bar.
Customers may enjoy their favorite beverage on one of the comfortable chairs situated on a platform with views of the entrance to the department store or while working at a community table with laptop hook-ups or on any of the chairs in the rear with views of the vegetation surrounding the store.
The freshness of summer has reached Marbella with Starbucks
The new store has reached Marbella in the perfect season for enjoying Starbucks' seasonal treats. Summer sips and flavor with the most refreshing beverages like the all-new Mango and Passion Fruit Yogurt Frappuccino or the Wild Berry Yogurt Frappuccino. In addition to these drinks, there's the classic Starbucks Refresha™, a low-calorie beverage with green coffee extract for a special treat or its Green Juice and Anti Ox, 100% natural fruit and vegetable-based juice drinks.
Plus, the single-origin coffee from Kenya is returning which is perfect for the summer as it's delicious served on ice. Shiny, with a juicy acidity and citric notes as well as fruity flavors from black currant and blackberry to grapefruit, the nuances are even more evident when the coffee is cold.
