Starbucks Coffee is continuing to invest in Portugal with the renovation of its premises in Belém as one of its latest new developments. The brand wanted to surprise customers and improve their experience with an all-new design inspired by typical Portuguese elements all while maintaining its strong tie to nautical symbols.
The original exterior facade, which dates back to the 18th century, has been maintained in order to exhibit the beauty of the structure. As far as the inside, customers are welcomed by the Mermaid (the brand symbol since 1971) as soon as they enter. It is printed on a wall made of cork which is also traditionally Portuguese. The Mermaid invites guests to walk up to the room located on the upper floor where they can take in the works of art hand painted by a local artist which are inspired by elements from the sea.
Making it so customers feel at home is the maxim at Starbucks locations. Thus, the special personalized treatment provided by our workers, the relaxing music, free Wi-Fi and the smell of recently-ground coffee are characteristics of all Starbucks stores which could not be missing from this renovated space.
Customers may have a high quality, 100% Arabica coffee in one of the most classic ways, either a bica (black coffee) or Cappuccino, or enjoy an exclusive Caramel Macchiato or one of the refreshing Frappuccinos® available in a variety of flavors.
Plus, Starbucks has just introduced its new beverage, the Cold Brew, specially designed for coffee enthusiasts. It is an iced coffee that is artisan made over a period of 20 hours to achieve rich, balanced nuances as well as a sweet, mild flavor.
New products will be arriving at our locations with the start of the new season set to begin on May 10th such as pistachio, caramel, almond and chocolate cookies, a chickpea and couscous salad with mandarins, our all-new bars and biscuits and the S’mores Frappuccino®.
