Starbucks increases its presence in Portugal with the opening of its 11th store. Situated on the ground floor of the Gaia El Corte Inglés in Oporto, the new location has a surface area of 147 m2 with 73 seats and 15 partners (employees).
There are now a total of 9 Starbucks stores in the Greater Lisbon area, Cascais and Vila Nova de Gaia in addition to the two licenses for the Lisbon Airport.
“We'd like more and more of the Portuguese to think of Starbucks as a special place for good times”, said Álvaro Salafranca, Starbucks CEO for Spain and Portugal. "We're going to continue opening more stores to meet all of our customers' needs," he concluded.
At this new store, it's possible to enjoy the Starbucks experience in a cozy place with personalized attention where the aroma mixes with the very history of coffee which is told through the works of art representing everything from its origin to the moment it enters a cup. It's a design that was conceived for more authentic relations between partners and customers, without forgetting the three regions of origin of Starbucks coffee and the importance of local artisanship in Portugal: the community table in the store was created with handmade Portuguese tiles.
