Marbella, 10 July 2015.- Following the recent opening of its new store in El Capricho (Marbella), Starbucks continues to bet on innovative and different formats to turn the experience of having coffee into a special and unique time. It is now opening the first Starbucks "Seasonal Kiosk" in Europe (EMEA) in Puerto Banús meaning it is a pioneer site as a new way to enjoy some of the world's most well known beverages like the Frappuccino, which is a hot summer success.
The “Seasonal Kiosk” is a concept that has been developed by Starbucks Spain and Portugal and may be adapted in the future in other countries which, thanks to the weather in Puerto Banús, may be open most of the year. The challenge was to create a completely flexible and movable store model so the brand could be present at new sites and even places that would be otherwise unexpected for consumers to date.
The steel cylinder design is easily recognizable both due to the circular structure as well as the accentuated color and represents the essence of Starbucks very well. At 8 m2, the kiosk closes hermetically at night and can be divided into two easily movable parts, which offers great versatility. A 45 m2 terrace will be installed around it with 48 seats so customers may have their favorite beverage in a more casual manner in the open air.
Rebeca Rubio, Construction Manager for Starbucks Spain and Portugal emphasized that: "The genesis of the concept was a very interesting process in which all of the brand's departments were involved so as to, in the end, transmit our essence through the new kiosk. The "Seasonal Kiosk" represents the fun side of Starbucks and creates an emotional point of attraction. This idea has aroused great interest in other countries with different tendencies and weather to which the concept may be transferred. Because of all of this, we are very satisfied with the result".
Starbucks continues innovating to reach consumers
This new kiosk is an extension into the street where our store at the El Corte Inglés department store is located in Puerto Banús and will involve the hiring of three new staff members. With this project, Starbucks continues to strengthen its position in our country where it is already present with 80 internally owned stores in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Malaga and Alicante in addition to the other 10 stores operating at airports under licensing agreements.
Álvaro Salafranca, CEO of Starbucks Spain and Portugal explains: "We're committed to new formats like the kiosk we're presenting today because they allow us to reach our customers in different places and enrich the Starbucks experience in those places as is the case of Puerto Banús".
