Toledo; November 30, 2016.- Grupo Vips, one of the leading multi-brand and multi-format groups in the hotel and restaurant and retail sectors in Spain, was recognized at the National Hotel and Restaurant Awards as the most innovative company in the sector thanks to its Club VIPS App. The awards ceremony, which was organized by the Spanish Federation of Hotels and Restaurants (FEHR), will take place tonight in the Teatro Rojas theater, situated in the heart of the historic downtown area of the city of Toledo.
Club VIPS is the pioneer and sector-leading loyalty hotel and restaurant program in Spain. To celebrate the 18th anniversary of the program last year, Grupo Vips presented the Club VIPS App - an innovative application that offers all the benefits of Club VIPS on a cell phone as well as exclusive new developments such as one-click payments and a Wi-Fi button.
Since its launch, the Club VIPS App has already been downloaded more than 550,000 times and now accounts for 35% of all transactions complete by Club VIPS members It can be used at the more than 350 Grupo Vips locations throughout Spain for all of its brands: Vips, Vips Smart, Ginos, Starbucks, Fridays and The Wok.

The working philosophy that characterizes the development of the Club VIPS App is a commitment to constant improvement by developing and implementing new functionalities and options with each update.
It is in this line that Grupo Vips is presenting a new version of the Club Vips App at the beginning of December which will be available for free in the App Store for iOS and in Google Play for Android.
This new version includes all-new functionalities like “Shake it”, and quick, easy and fun way to make your favorite order with just a shake of your phone.
Plus, the all-new version combines all the recent features developed in the last few months such as the Wi-Fi button which brings customers unlimited Internet access at all Grupo Vips locations in Spain, information on new developments and special offers at all of its brands and the possibility of configuring up to three cards for the “Pay in 1 Click” function to easy and quickly choose the one to use at any time.
These new developments are added to the broad variety of payment options and functionalities already offered by the Club VIPS App such as the possibility of ordering takeaway, booking a table, finding the closest location via geolocation and checking the list of allergens for any dish.
