Badajoz, 4 December 2015.- Vips, the original brand and flagship of Grupo Vips, the leading multi-brand and multi-format company in the restaurant and retail sector in Spain, has arrived in Extremadura. Badajoz is the place chosen for the new location of this iconic establishment which will open its doors to the public next Monday, 7th December at the El Faro Shopping Mall.
The first Vips in Badajoz, operated as a franchise with the creation of 21 new jobs, includes the brand's 100% renewed offer which is reflected in a new image -more modern, comfortable and warm- a menu featuring a culinary variety for all tastes and eating times as well as extended opening hours.
Following an investment of approximately €535,000, the new VIPS covers an extensive surface area of 386m2 in the dining room and a spectacular 134m2 terrace for a capacity of a total of 256 diners (172 in the dining room and 84 on the terrace). The El Faro shopping mall where it's located provides an outstanding retail offer and is clearly geared towards family entertainment. Plus, the complex includes free parking with a capacity for 2,650 vehicles.
With this new location, there are now a total of 96 Vips Cafeterias-Restaurants, 83 of which are internally owned and 13 operated under the franchise system, across 17 Spanish provinces.
A Commitment to Franchising
This new opening under the franchise system is the result of Grupo Vips' strong commitment to boost its expansion through these agreements since mid-2013. After having grown for decades operating as internally owned entities to create a network of more than 335 locations, Grupo Vips decided to strengthen its franchising project (which began in 2010 with its Ginos brand) by adding its most notorious chain, VIPS Cafeterias, as well as its 'Quick Service'-adapted version, VIPSmart.
The project continues to grow with the company currently operating a total of 44 establishments under the franchise system: 13 VIPS, 12 VIPSmart and 19 Ginos restaurants.
VIPS, A Unique Brand

All of these tasty options are offered in addition to a line of light and balanced products including dishes such as the California sandwich on twelve-grain bread with seeds filled with roasted vegetables and greens and healthy desserts such as seasonal fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice.

To celebrate its 18th anniversary, the new Club Vips, was presented this year with an innovative App which has already been acknowledged with two prizes: the Modern Restaurant prize from "Marcas de Restauración' (formerly, FEHRCAREM) in the Best Mobile App category as well as from the newspaper Expansión as one of the Top Digital Ideas.
Just like at any of the chain's other locations, customers of this new VIPS Restaurant-Cafeteria in Badajoz may enjoy the new service provided by the recently launched Club Vips App which makes it possible to benefit from the Club's promotions, redeem EuroVIPS checks, use a gateway with various mobile payment methods, order Take Away, book a table or find locations via GPS.
