Cartagena, 15 June 2015.- Vips, the original brand after which the Group is named, is opening its first Cafeteria-Restaurant today in Cartagena and the region of Murcia under the franchise system. The new Vips, which boasts the chain's 100% renovated image, is located in calle Mayor which is one of the liveliest areas in the city just a few meters from the Trade Port.
The Vips brand's comprehensive overhaul was the result of a transformation process undertaken aimed at evolving, modernizing and boosting its attraction for customers. Work has been done to renovate the image, interior design and menu offering as well as the quality of the ingredients and service style. The Cartagena Vips boasts this 100% renovated image.
With this new opening, there are now a total of 94 Vips Cafeterias-Restaurants currently operating in 15 Spanish provinces (82 internally owned and 12 under franchise agreements).
The new Cartagena Vips has generated 25 new jobs. The place features a surface area of 520 m2 with a capacity to host up to 200 diners (172 in the dining room and 28 on the terrace).
A Commitment to Franchising
This new opening under the franchise system is the result of Grupo Vips' strong commitment to growth through these agreements since mid-2013. After having grown for decades operating as internally owned entities to create a network of more than 335 locations, Grupo Vips decided in March 2013 to strengthen its franchising project (which began in 2010 with its Ginos brand) by adding its most notorious chain, VIPS Cafeterias, as well as its Quick Service-adapted version, VIPSmart.
The project continues to grow with the company currently operating a total of 34 establishments under the franchise system: 12 VIPS, 9 VIPSmart and 13 Ginos restaurants.
VIPS Cafeteria-Restaurant, an all-new place with a cutting edge design
The new Vips Cafeteria features an all-new, cutting edge image all while maintaining its identity signs: warmth and comfort.
The Vips of the future is designed for all types of eating times: a break from work, a business lunch or to enjoy a bit of relaxation alone or in the company of family or friends.
Thus, ILMIODESIGN, the interior design firm that was responsible for this renovation has equipped the all-new VIPS with different spaces that adapt to all types of needs. To have a quick bite or eat alone, there's a new, modern bar where customers can see some of the work going on in the kitchen; for a group meal at VIPS, the restaurant dining room offers comfortable and modern booths with low benches as well as a series of high benches and armchairs which invigorate the space, creating a number of intimate and personal corners to comfortably enjoy some private conversation.
As far as the colors, the strong Vips personality is reinforced with this new interior design which revolves around the chain's mythical red that is present in all of the soft seats. The red contrasts with the beiges, greys and light browns on the floor, chairs, tables, walls and tall panels which gives the entire dining room a touch of elegance and warmth.
VIPS, a unique business model
Open every day of the year with meticulous table service, extended opening hours and free Wi-Fi for customers, Vips covers all eating times: from breakfast to mid-morning snacking, lunch, afternoon snacks and even late suppers.
The all-new culinary offer focuses on international dishes with an American accent including its famous sandwiches like the Vips Club, its savory salads like the Caesar or Louisiana, its popular hamburgers and delicious desserts like its brownie with vanilla ice cream and famous pancakes with whipped cream. All of these tasty options are combined with a line of light, balanced products. They include dishes such as the California sandwich on twelve-grain bread with seeds filled with roasted vegetables and greens and healthy desserts such as seasonal fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice.
On the other hand, VIPS restaurants provide an extensive menu of the day from which customers may choose from among more than nine dishes starting at €10.95 and a child's menu starting at €7.50. Likewise, customers can choose to be served at the bar or at a table for even more eating options, depending on their needs.
They also have a gluten-free menu, which is certified by FACE (Spanish Federation of Coeliac Associations).
A New Restaurant, A New App
Just like at any of the chain's other locations, the new VIPS Cafeteria-Restaurant also has the new service offered by the recently launched Club Vips APP, the Grupo Vips' emblematic loyalty club.
After downloading the App, customers may continue to enjoy the Club's promotions and benefits without having to carry their card or EuroVIPS checks in their wallets. Moreover, the major new development is the availability of a new gateway which includes different mobile payment methods, Take Away ordering, table booking, location searches via GPS and virtual membership cards and EuroVIPS checks, which up until now were sent by regular mail or printed off the website.
In addition, this new App enables very direct communication with members as each one of the functionalities is designed to offer real, personalized value when used.
The Club VIPS App developed for smartphones is free and available at the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android. It combines all of the Grupo Vips brands and is valid for use throughout Spain.
